As you consider what to do next, find a quiet place where you can sit down and do your best to focus. What would you tell your best friend if she found herself in the same situation? That might be a starting point. Pretty quickly, though, it will become important to talk it over with someone.
At Willowbrook Women’s Center, we know that you need more than an inner conversation in order to make the best decision. We are here to offer support, equip you with the critical information you need, and provide you with the necessary services to make an informed decision.
Support
Most women need support from others. A shoulder to lean on. A compassionate person to cry with. Someone to talk to. It’s part of our internal make-up.
We are here for you, no matter what frame of mind you are in. You might be angry and need to vent. Perhaps you are sad or confused. Or maybe you don’t feel as though it’s really happening to you. Whatever you are feeling, it’s ok.
There’s no need to be embarrassed. Chances are pretty good we’ve heard it from someone else. And while we are offering support to you, we are always professional, and keep everything confidential.
Critical Information
By now you probably know you have three choices—abortion, adoption and parenting. We are here to give you critical information on all three of them so that you can be confident in the choice you ultimately make.
We can help you understand the differences between different abortion procedures, how they work, and explain why the free testing we offer is so important. Other information we will give you covers adoption and parenting, and what those choices could mean for you.
Our Services
Now that you’re thinking about coming in for support and to learn more about your options, let’s talk about the free services we offer, and why it’s important you take advantage of them.
The first step is taking a lab-quality pregnancy test to confirm you are pregnant. Sure, you took one at home, and it was probably correct, but there is no harm in making sure. If it was wrong, and you are considering abortion, we don’t want you to have a procedure you may not need.
If the results come back positive, we will offer you an ultrasound to make sure your pregnancy is viable, to rule out an ectopic pregnancy (which can be life-threatening), and to tell you how far along your pregnancy is.
We also offer testing for STDs. An untreated STD can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) should you have an abortion. PID causes chronic pain and fertility problems, something easily avoided with treatment, which we can refer you to a doctor for if necessary.
