You have three options for your unplanned pregnancy: abortion, making an adoption plan, and parenting. If you do not wish to carry your pregnancy to full term, abortion is your only option. However, you need to determine how far along you are to know which abortion procedure is available to you.
Before deciding which option is best, confirm your pregnancy with no-cost pregnancy services at Willowbrook Women’s Center. We can review your options once you have the facts about your pregnancy. Schedule an appointment today.
How Do I Confirm My Pregnancy?
One at-home pregnancy test and a late period isn’t enough information. You should take another test and have an ultrasound to get the necessary information.
We offer no-cost, confidential pregnancy testing. If your center test result is positive, you’ll need an ultrasound.
Why Should I Get an Ultrasound?
Experts estimate as many as 26% of all pregnancies end in a miscarriage. It is entirely possible not to have symptoms, still get a positive pregnancy test result, and have already miscarried.
The following are questions you will get answered with an ultrasound:
- Is my pregnancy developing, or have I had a miscarriage?
- How far along am I in my pregnancy?
- Is the pregnancy in the correct location, or could it be ectopic?
We offer a no-cost ultrasound to women with a positive test from us.
How Do I Make An Adoption Plan?
Although adoption is emotionally challenging, you receive many benefits when working with a reputable adoption agency or lawyer. You receive the following when you choose adoption:
- All your prenatal care and hospital visits are paid for.
- You select the potential adoptive parents who will raise your child.
- By picking the couple, you determine your child’s upbringing (i.e., where they live, the family birth order, hobbies, religion, etc.)
- Your adoption coordinator may also arrange for other pregnancy-related expenses to be covered (i.e., food, rent, maternity clothing, transportation to your doctor, etc.)
- You choose the best adoption plan: open, semi-open, or closed.
- You have the right to change your mind at any time before you sign legal papers.
