Being in a new relationship is exciting and scary at the same time. You’re just beginning to get to know each other and figuring out if you are a good fit together. Finding out you have an unplanned pregnancy adds a whole bunch of new questions into the mix.

How do you tell him you’re pregnant? How will he feel about it? What will he want you to do? Even more than those questions, how do you feel about it? What should you do? What is the best decision for you?

We Can Help You

At Willowbrook Women’s Center, we can help you answer some of these questions, give you all the information you need to make the right decision for you, and give you guidance on how to tell him you’re pregnant.

Our advocates and licensed medical personnel are here for YOU. We will provide you with unbiased, truthful information in a non-judgmental environment to help guide you in your decision-making process.

Additional Testing Offered

We will listen to your concerns and will offer you a free, lab-quality pregnancy test to make sure you receive accurate results. Some home tests may not give accurate results, could be expired, or might have been taken too early.

If your test comes back positive, we recommend you have a free ultrasound done at our office, especially if you are considering an abortion. This will allow us to make sure your pregnancy is viable and not ectopic, a condition that is dangerous and requires medical attention. It will also tell you how far along you are in your pregnancy.

Sometimes an ultrasound will show that the pregnancy, for one of many different reasons besides ectopic, is not viable and likely to result in a miscarriage. Between 15 and 25 percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and we don’t want you to have a procedure done which is unnecessary.

STD testing is another important step to be taken if considering an abortion. If gone untreated, and an abortion is performed, an STD could lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and lifelong reproductive problems and pain. With testing, we can then refer you to a clinic for treatment.

Information Provided

We will also answer your questions about all options open to you: abortion, parenting and adoption. There is no pressure to choose one option over another. Our goal is to provide you with all the information you need to make the best choice for you.

Willowbrook Women’s Center is a safe place for you to discuss these options with an advocate and licensed medical staff you can trust. They can explain the different abortion procedures, what they cost, and the risk factors associated with each of the procedures. They can also give you information about parenting and adoption.
