Pre-Abortion Screening
We don’t want you to pay for an abortion you may not need, and pre-abortion screening can help you avoid that. Come in for a free, laboratory-quality pregnancy test. They are more accurate than over-the-counter tests which give false results more often than women realize, for a variety of different reasons.
If the test comes back positive, we will offer you a limited ultrasound to determine the viability of the pregnancy, make sure it’s not ectopic (a dangerous condition requiring medical treatment), and to determine how far along your pregnancy is.
We also offer STD testing and referrals for treatment. This is an important test because STD’s, if untreated prior to an abortion, can result in pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). PID can cause pain and long-term problems with reproductive health, including infertility.
